Current Projects

  • Liquid Mimesis: This project started with an invitation to collaborate on a chapter of a book ‘Imagining Islands: Visual Culture in the Northern British Archipelago’ following a(nother) visit to the Outer Hebrides in September 2016. The book is currently being edited and will be published by Routledge in late 2017. In response to this writerly collaboration I have developed a ‘script’ or Short Piece for 3 Voices, in which a conversation occurs between Island, Mainland and Ocean. This has been developed through participation in an International workshop on Writing the Environmental Humanities (Undisciplined Discipline) near Stockholm (Jan 17) funded by Linkoping University. I have also developed a short (10 mins) film which brings the script alive through sound and moving image. It will be screened at the Association of American Geographers AGM in Boston, April 17, and other venues (tbc).
